Our home is on 5 private acres, surrounded by oak trees and native grasses, located half-way between Wimberley and Blanco in the scenic Texas Hill Country. We're about an hour's drive from Austin, San Antonio, Fredericksburg, and Luckenbach. The nearest grocery is about 25 min away.
May/early June is often a very enjoyable time of year here, before the true summer heat sets in. There are nearby rivers and many outdoor opportunities, as well as plenty of interesting happenings in surrounding communities. We have quality breweries, wineries and craft distillers within an hours' drive, and there is always plenty of live music around.
Our home has been described as serene and peaceful. We're surrounded by trees and have lots of wildlife and many birds. Deer visit daily to drink from our small pond. The night skies can be amazing! We especially enjoy our attached covered porch, and sunny/shady lounging deck poolside. Internet works well, and we have a large tv with Netflix etc. Our self-watering vegetable garden is likely to be producing, and you are of course welcome to enjoy the bounty!.
Our home really doesn't need much attention. We fill the birdbath and feeder as needed, and water a few outdoor plants every few days in the warmer months. We have a nice above-ground pool with attached deck, which is understandably a favored spot. Our pool is minimally (but safely) chlorinated, so adding a small amount of liquid chlorine every 2-3 days will be needed.
Our two sweet dogs are fed twice daily, with a short walk after dinner. They have unlimited outdoor privileges on our land, but the evening leashed walk on our rural road is always special. This walk has become shorter as our senior dog ages, but you are welcome to take the younger one on a walk any time. They can easily be on their own indoors for 4-5 hours if you want to go exploring. Our 17 year old (!) is a small mixed breed, about 25 lbs; our 4 year old is a black lab mix, about 60lbs. Both are sweet, smart, and are used to being around friends, neighbors, and other dogs.
Our neighbors are all kind, helpful people should any need arise. On this particular trip, we will only be about 2 hrs away.
If you are kind, caring, easy-going, responsible, dog-loving, possess common sense, and are a non-smoker - we'd love to chat! We should mention that we have stairs and typical Hill Country terrain, so anyone with mobility issues might be challenged.
