Looking for a cat sitter to enjoy the holiday season with two furballs in a quiet, Burnaby townhouse.
We live in the Edmonds neighbourhood, in a three-storey, three bedroom townhouse with two secure parking spaces. Our home is in a quiet, safe neighbourhood, on a pedestrian-only street, with friendly neighbours. Both our home and the street we live on are smoke-free environments.
Within minutes walking distance, we can reach transit (SkyTrain and bus loop), three grocery stores, a community centre, coffee shops and the library, and a really wonderful park.
The most impotant part of the house sit is taking care of our two furry family members - Bubba - a 7-year-old long haired cat who likes to snuggle and sleep, and Pumpkin - a year-old shorthair cat who still gets the zoomies and is learning to sit, stand and high-five on command. We're looking for a sitter who will take care of the cats' day-to-day needs and give them lots of attention.
Our cats are fed three times a day and they share three litter boxes that we scoop every-other day. Bubba needs medication daily, which can be given easily mixed in with his food.
Like all families, the cats have some quirks. Bubba is very keen to explore the great outdoors - despite us warning him about the coyotes - and the sitter will need to catch him before he wriggles under the fence. Pumpkin is determined to eat all food, whether intended for cats or humans, and needs to be reminded regularly that he will get a tummy ache if he carries on like that.
For full disclosure, we do not have holiday decor to put up or leave for you to put out, but you are welcome to decorate (although our strata does not allow real Christmas trees).
Finally, the end date is somewhat flexible. Although we'll return on Jan. 1, 2024, you're welcome to use the spare room for a few days more if that helps you bridge a gap between this sit and your subsequent plans.
If this sounds lke the right opportunity for you, and you're looking for a cosy holiday season in the Lower Mainland, please reach out.
