We are looking for someone to care for our two dogs in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, British Columbia from approximately December 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025 (start and end dates are flexible).
We live on a small acreage but only a 10-minute drive from groceries, including Costco, and downtown Courtenay. The house is approximately 3000 sq. ft. and has all amenities such as laundry, Wi-Fi, a BBQ, fully stocked kitchen, and lots of room for parking. The property is fully fenced so the dogs can roam freely outside – no need to walk them and they can be left outside if the weather is not freezing.
Our property is near Seal Bay Park, so it is very quiet and you have easy access to hiking trails.
The house is not on a bus route so you need to have your own car to get anywhere.
This is a slightly unusual situation, because there will also be a college student with whom you would share the house. He is polite and quiet and spends most of his time studying in his room. There will be times when he is away so you will have the house to yourselves. Once every thirty to forty days, the owners (husband and wife) will return for a few days (for insurance purposes since we will be living in the US). Dates can be negotiated so you could either stay at the house (you will have your own bedroom), or have some time away to explore other parts of Vancouver Island.
This would be a good opportunity for a retired couple looking to explore Vancouver Island, or someone who would like to be in Courtenay for the ski season at Mount Washington (house is 45 minutes from the ski hill).
