My wife and I live in a small 2 bedroom house halfway between Launceston and George Town and about 500 metres from the Tamar River. Our property is approximately 1.2 acres of garden and bush with plenty of trees, visiting possums, pademelons, occasional echidnas and plenty of birds. There are two small ponds complete with frogs.
Spring and summer hours can be spent either on a veranda (complete with bbq and settings) attached to a small two storey studio and overlooking the garden or on the decking overlooking one of the ponds.
The main house is air conditioned and well back from the road so very little traffic noise from the very little traffic that uses it. Under cover parking (carport) is available for on car plus plenty of room to turn - no need to reverse out of the property. Unfortunately overhanging trees restrict access for high vehicles such as camper vans and turning can be a problem for caravans and trailers.
At the end of the road there is a cafe overlooking the river plus a pontoon for the hopeful fisherman to use.
