I'm looking for a pet sitter this spring that may be more of a home body, as I work from home and so my dogs have grown accustomed to me being here most of the time. They could be left for no more than 5 hours, as one of my pups is still young, he'll be 1yr in May. Both dogs are well behaved and sweet. The younger pup isn't confident enough to be around unknown dogs yet, so if you do go on walks, you'll need to be mindful to cross the road and reward him if he doesn't cry or bark and calmly observes instead. They both love to play and wrestle with each other and the older pup loves to play fetch. I would like the person/s sitting for me to not mind them sleeping in bed with you, as they both sleep with me at night.
My home is a cozy, new build townhome/condo. It's a 2bdrm, 2.5 bath, end unit, with a small backyard.
I don't have a guest space, so you would be sleeping in my room/bed. The bedding will be clean upon arrival and there will be clean sheets to use during your stay. The dogs will usually start out under the covers but eventually move to the top of the blankets.
There won't really be a whole lot of maintenance or upkeep, other than just general cleaning (vacuum/sweep/mop/dust). I do have a couple of plants that may need to be watered once or twice on the window sill.
Everything in my place will be available to the sitter to use. I do have a space in the 2nd bedroom that I utilize as an office, which you could use as well, but my laptop wouldn't be of use, as it's a company owned laptop, but you can you my monitor, keyboard and mouse.
The other condo owners are very friendly and helpful, if needed.
There is no dedicated parking, only street parking is available.
There is a nearby by bus that goes down the nearest main roads, as well as 2 other main roads being within walking distance. There are also some restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance, and grocery stores within a 5-10min drive (you could walk to Safeway, as that one would only be a 15-20min walk).
I'm located in inner SE Portland, so not far from anything that Portland has to offer.
The main takeaway is, I'd prefer someone that either works from hone or would be staying at my house for most of the time, rather than someone who'd only be sleeping there and checking throughout the day.
