We require mature, responsible house and pet carers for approximately a 12 week period 17th April – 12th July, 2006 while we are overseas. We live in a large, lowset house with a reasonably large garden in Bundaberg, Qld. and would prefer someone interested in maintaining the garden and lawns. We have a six year old German Shepherd dog, Greta who needs daily walking, a few chooks and pot plants requiring watering. The garden is mostly self caring but some weeding and mowing would be necessary. There is a vegetable garden which will have some home produce ready to pick! Greta, while an excellent watchdog, has a loving nature and responds well to lots of attention!
Bundaberg is a very pleasant city, four hours drive north of Brisbane and a 15 minute drive to several lovely beaches. Bundaberg has the most temperate climate on the east coast of Australia. The weather in autumn and winter is very mild. Attractions in Bundaberg include several beaches, Mon Repos turtle rookery, easy access to southern Barrier Reef, Bundaberg Rum distillery, home of Jabiru aeroplanes, and easy travel to Coral Coast hinterland, five golf courses, several bowling greens, water sports and much more! ,Our home is less than 3 klms from the city centre and close to public transport.
We require potential house sitters to have good references. We will contact referees by phone. We would prefer to meet any potential sitters beforehand, though we understand this may not be possible.
