We are both very passionate about animal welfare.
We are a responsible caring couple in our mid 50's, who have been married since 1982. We do not smoke or take any kind of these so called 'recreational drugs'..
We are looking to travel and broaden our horizons. We have a particular love for all things Spanish and a affinity for most of Europe especially Spain and Portugal..
We have spent some time in both the Costa Blanca area and on Tenerife. We have wonderful memories of our many visits to Tenerife (In-laws lived there for 18 years).
We are at that age where after 25 years of living and working in Canada we find ourselves considering a permanent move to Europe, very likely the Javea area of the Costa Blanca, a house sitting assignment would give us the perfect opportunity to integrate into the region and culture, check out the property market as well as the local health care services etc.
We would also be open to an assignment in the U.K - Within an hour or two of Avon or Somerset would be great as we still have family in Bristol, Somerset and the surrounding areas.
In Spain we would prefer to be within 1 - 1hr 20 minutes drive of Javea, Denia or the surrounding areas. The Orba and Jalon Valley are also of interest, although all areas of Spain would be considered. Including The Canary and Balearic Islands.
We are both fascinated by architecture and love the sights, sounds and flavours of Valencia, Madrid, Seville and of course Barcelona, so house and pet sitting in these cities would be a great way for us to explore them further.
We also would love to experience the sights and flavours of the rest of Europe too.
We are pretty houseproud, we have an executive home so please be assured we would treat your home with the same care & respect as we do our own. We have lived both in large Cities as well as in semi rural locations and mountain towns, therefore we would have no problem adapting to either. We are also used to winter driving conditions, so mountain regions (and the occasional power outage) are not a problem for us.
We can't state enough that we absolutely love animals, we have a passion for animal welfare so it would be a pleasure to take care of yours....You can leave for your trip with peace of mind and be assured that we would take good care of both your pets and your home.
We have both volunteered for the BC SPCA. ~ My husband gained a bit of a reputation and was affectionately nic named 'the cat Whisperer,' he was often called on to take care of particularly traumatized cats, socializing them, helping them learn to trust again so they would become suitable for adoption...

We know how scary it is offering up your home and precious pets to strangers, so again be rest assured your home and any pets would be in good hands. We would give you the opportunity before the assignment to get to know us better, either through phone calls, Facetime, or the latter we will need to download)
We are flexible with regard to dates and we can fit in easily with your plans.
