Hello. My name is Sally.
I am an adventurous fifty two year old woman who adores animals, loves to travel, and garden. I treat all animals with deepest respect and care. I love being active outdoors (walking, cycling, x-country skiing, inline skating, etc), photographing, playing piano, writing, creating art, and enjoying the beauty of nature.
I have pet and house sat in lovely homes throughout the US, Canada, Greece, France, Portugal, England, Italy, Switzerland, and Sweden. In 2015, I cared for cats in England and Switzerland and dogs in Portugal, England, and France. I pet sat on Vancouver Island for weeks in a lovely home with two dogs and two bunnies and have been invited back. I've dog sat in Sweden and cat sat in Greece. Wonderful experiences! Also recently served in a long term house-caring with dog, cats, and garden. I've been invited to return four times to former pet/house sits, including a luxury apartment in Philadelphia, a country home in France, as well as a lovely home in Santa Barbara, California. In 2018 I ran a holiday rental in Venice for 6 weeks.
I have a deep respect for others' property, am neat and tidy. I am a peaceful spirit, responsible, dependable, conserving of energy due to my environmental stewardship ethic.
I have cared for pets all my life, both my own cats, dogs, rabbits and even an iguana as well as others'...in both professional and casual settings. I connect on an intuitive level with animals. Also, cats seem to appreciate my sensitive, gentle,calm nature and dogs enjoy my kindness, grooming, and love of activity/walks/nature. People who see me with animals have often commented that they wish they were my pet and would receive all that constant care.
My life work has ranged from Education and Counseling (Masters degree), Dean of Students of a Graduate School, College Work, Photography publication, Writing, Environmental Ed, and Outdoor Adventure Guiding/Naturalist work. I'm presently seeking a peaceful location to work on writing/photography projects, enjoy walking and exercise (anything outdoors), and rest. I also love experiencing other cultures.
I am open to any location in the US or abroad. Very adaptable to any setting from countryside to town to cities. Most recently I've lived close to the sea, both on Whidbey Island, Washington and Santa Barbara, CA.
