I am active, nonsmoking, animal loving and reliable with extensive house sitting and international business experience. I grew up in Canada and 90% of my working life has been in international environments. As a result of working abroad I became very adaptable, appreciative and curious of other cultures and different living environments. I really have come to realize if I wanted to know why anyone did things a certain way, the best way to find out was to go and live their daily routine with responsibilities and the answers were both obvious and interesting. I have been house sitting for 10 years for friends and over the past two years I have enjoyed it more as a lifestyle that just suits me. Most recently, I have spent significant time caring for pets and homes in Canada, Bermuda, South Africa, Switzerland, France, Dubai, Singapore, California, Florida, South Carolina and New York. I consider myself fortunate to be traveling as much as I do, helping people when they leave their home, working remotely all while seeing the world one location at a time, slowly and in the company of pets in a home environment.
For me, house sitting is an opportunity to experience life in different settings, at a slower pace. A chance to really get to know an city or region. I am a homebody that enjoys a quiet life and I am fortunate to be able to work remotely - ideally in the company of your pets. House sitting is great for me as I get to combine my passion for travel and pets. I treat your home and animals as if they’re my own – with respect, love and care. I have found that I thrive on change and love the opportunity to live ‘like a local’ in a place rather than to experience it as a tourist. I enjoy exploring and discovering new places authentically and at an easeful pace rather than just visiting. I also prefer living in a home environment and have found that the best way to get to know a place is to have a care-taking role that gives a rhythm to my days. Having the opportunity to be temporary home and pet guardian really allows me to feel settled in new places.
I am well-traveled and have fully adapted to the slow-travel approach, really preferring to truly experience a place as any local resident would vs as a tourist.
