Hi there,
My name is Cheryl Ann and I am presently back in Australia where I have been successfully running an from my home in Port Macquarie NSW since August 2016.
I had been a very happy and active traveler since my early retirement in March 2012, successfully supplementing traveling with house sitting and crewing on boats which worked well until the bottom fell out of my currency.
I decided to come home re-invent myself then and now it's all set up I will run my from December to Feb plan to house sit O.S. travel the rest of the year.
My last house sit O.S. was in France 2018 with the adorable pooch Miss Molly.
Before I started my , Islesboro in Maine with two more adorable pooches in 2016.
I had finished a 3 month trip on a 68 ft boat called Delusions before that, helping them bring her from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Montreal, Quebec around the Gaspe Peninsular and up the St Lawrence Seaway.
Crewing on boats as well as doing house sits and traveling gave me a great retirement.
I headed to Halifax from Ecuador where I had a 5 week house sitting engagement with 3 dogs, 2 puppies, 2 cats and also had to manage the 2 Workaways on the property.
I have always been an up for anything person.
In 2012 I started my Americas trip doing a 6 week crew on S.V Cirque in The Bocas del Toro Archipelago, Panama.
In 2014 I house sat for 3 mths on Nevis, Eastern Caribbean looking after 2 adorable kitties in their rather magic home. Then Merida in the Yucatan with 2 cheeky Corgi's. Then a month in Santa Cruz, California looking after my friend's home with their adorable cats, while they holidayed in France. Then 2 in Oz were with a very boisterous, extra large hound in Forresters beach and a small feisty dog with his arch nemeses, 2 feisty felines in Brooklyn, both north of my home town Sydney.
I felt very fortunate to be able to live my dream, sailing and traveling and have been enthralled by the amazing people and countries I have had the good fortune to come across while setting out on this journey.
My goal is still to see as much as I can by both land and sea while I am still capable. Now I just have to do it in smaller slices. Last year it was Cuba and Mexico.
I lost my two devoted furry mates within 6 months of one another the year after my husband of 30 years passed. My moggy, Reuben was 19yrs old and Rocky, my German Shepard was 14yrs.
These losses and the fact that the teenagers had all moved on were major factors that led me to becoming a grey nomad and quitting work! Although I am not quiet grey yet!
I have posted pictures of my beautiful home in Port Macquarie on the east coast of Australia for your perusal. I have always been very house and garden proud and of course treat everyone's home and pets as I would my own.
For the 6 years prior to leaving on my sojourn after loosing my darling husband, I managed to maintain my house, garden and pool with good spirit while bringing up foster teenagers and working full time doing respite care for people with intellectual disabilities. Occasionally even being able to follow my passion which is giving private Yoga lessons.
I have never shirked work and consider myself a very compassionate, honest, hard working and reliable person.
I have supplied both business and character references from Hastings District Respite, where I worked for 10 years before my retirement and Life Without Barriers, who I fostered through for 8 years.
Both of these agencies require police, house and Insurance checks which were executed regularly whilst I was in their employ. I have nothing to hide.
My ESTA ( American visa) was supplied over the internet, immediate of application as I have no criminal record.
Any of my previous house sit owners have assured me that they would be only too happy to furnish you with references. There are also house sit references on this site.
I look forward to the opportunity of hearing from you and would be happy to answer any questions that you may have, initially by . I am able to as well for a more personal interview.
I hope that in the future I will be able to provide you with the great care that I pride myself in and be given the opportunity to treat your pets, home and plants as if they were my own.
I thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
Kind Regards,
Cheryl Ann
