You can count on me. I am a responsible, non-smoking, non-drinking, physically active, semi-retired single male. I’d love to take care of your home, as I continue to write and do photography.
I am originally from Illinois, but I have often lived outside of the mainland US -- in Nam Phong, Thailand; Juneau, Alaska; Port Alberni, British Columbia; Emsdale, Ontario; Pahoa, Hawaii; Courtenay, British Columbia; and Mutare, Zimbabwe. My home base is in Denver, Colorado, and I also spend time each year with family in Springfield, Illinois. As an active adventure travel photographer, I continue to travel extensively -- mostly in New England, the Canyonlands, the Pacific Northwest and the Canadian Rockies. I spend almost every summer (24 of the last 30 summers) in Alaska.
I began my career as a Sales Representative for IBM, and thankfully I just started receiving a small pension from them. In the past 20 years I have been a Marketing Professor at the University of Alaska, a Peace Corps Volunteer, a web designer, a carpenter, a fitness instructor, and a photographer/guide.
I have experience building homes, remodeling homes, and of course taking care of homes. I enjoy pets – they’re great companions. I've cared for cats, small dogs, a very large German Shepherd, a couple of birds, and even tropical fish. So let me take care of your home while you are away, and you can relax. With a quiet place to write, and interesting nearby places to explore, I'll be quite content too.
