We are a sophisticated and independent couple in our twenty's looking to see the world making new experiences and gathering more inspiration for me working as a content-writer and for Julia doing arts. We are ecology-minded and do not smoke. We enjoy city-life but also savour natural situations given us by our environment, e.g. considering animals, beautiful landscapes or fascinating cultures.
Me (technical allrounder, oasis of tranquility)
I (Marvin) was brought up single by my mother, so I very early was forced to take care of my younger sister. Although you might think I am too young to sit a house, I know very well what it means to show responsibility. I have had a cat and several aquaterrariums ranging from 54l up to 1000l with fishes, shrimps and frogs the last years. In addition to that, I achieved some skills in gardening due to a 1000l aquaponic system (yes, in my 12 sqm dorm room ;)). Currently I own two smaller aquariums in my dorm room. 3D designing, 3D scanning and 3D printing is absolutely no problem as well as repairing a washing machine or welding a frame for furniture. You see that I don't spare any effort. I am now a student in Karlsruhe studying computer science. To ensure my financial issues I work as a location-independent content writer and during my studies I am tutor in maths (1 and 2). Currently I am in the end stage of my thesis (bachelor).
Assuming responsibility is self-evident for me, I am currently the leader of our commune I live in with Julia and thirteen other people. I am known in the commune for being the contact partner for everything technical and considering organisation. In my opinion everything can be mastered - I have no fear of exams despite little learning and it requires tons of effort to shock me. In fact, I am a very calm and sometimes a bit introversive character.
Julia (artist, social engineer)
Hello, I am Julia! I was born in Lithuania and also was raised here in Germany. I study arts in Karlsruhe. I was the manager of the apartement house our commune is located in with eleven other communes. I think this and my love for animals should please you. My little brother has been working on a farm and I visited him reguarly. To finance my studies I have been working as tutor as well and I had long lasting jobs in 2 jewelry-stores in the heart of Karlsruhe. At the moment I have a job managing artworks for an art collector. I focus on details.
I would describe me as a creative and multi-facetted person. I have a very high interest on people and on interacting with them. The same view I apply on animals: I am amazed of their social capacities and understanding of our world. I adore every kind of animal independent of its optical appearance but instead based on its character - which does not exclude a cat willing to "playfight", a dog eating my yet frozen pizza (accidentially of course) or a goat eating my finger, just in the contrary.
I especially love poodles and other dogs, cats fishes and chickens and actually every animal. Some say as long as animals are present, you could bring me everywhere. In fact, I am a very colourful person having several sides. I am a very colourful character and enjoy a trip to the middle of nowhere as well as a stay downton. I am passionate and extroverted.
Me and Julia
Me and Julia, we are not married, but we are together since nearly 6 years and we have our initials on the license plate of our motorcycle - I think that is a pretty good description for our relation-ship :)
WHY WE WANT A HOUSE TO SIT
The reason why we are here? Well, we are a prying young couple who wants to get used to the world! Therefore, we want to meet new people and see new landscapes and cultures. We are near to animals (cats, dogs, goats, sheep, and also fish (yes, you can pet them) yet we are no vegetarians. We sometimes go out with the dogs from the local sanctuary because we do not have enough space for our own pet, as well as we reguarly visit the goats, sheep and mules at a local outdoor enclosure (just see the pictures). There is also kind of an "adventure feeling" to us ;)
As students we can easily take a few weeks for vacancies in July, August, September and Oktober as well as in January and February. There are no courses at all for both of us. We often have sitted the house of my mom and we sometimes sit the house of my aunt in Berlin. In fact, we are used to house sitting, the last housesit was in Argeles sur Mer (France). You can call us or also just leave an electronic mail, a skyp-name or something similar, we are flexible: We would like to travel/housesit around the whole world while preferring short term housesits located in Europe and long term housesits everywhere. We speak German, English and French. We would appreciate if you would give us the chance to make our travel-dreams come true. If you watch the photos including the description, you will see that we care about our things as well as we would care about yours!
