My name is Susan. I love to travel, and do it as often as I can. I have pets of my own, own my home, as well as rental properties, so I know of the traits or qualities you may desire, in someone trusted to live in your home, and care for your pets, or vacation rentals, if that's the case. I know how to mow, shovel snow, light a water heater, pump water out of a flooding basement, water the flowers, scoop poop, give pills, walk dogs, make cats purr, greet your guests, , text or call you as often as you like, deal with your help, or any service people that might need to be called in for a repair. I have a drivers license, can drive a standard, and I can't remember the last traffic ticket I will notice a running toilet, dripping faucet, whether the pets are eating and drinking normally, if their stools look healthy, and if they seem happy or anxious. I don't smoke, I expect people to respect my property, so would definitely have healthy respect for yours. I'm lucky to have daughters, and a great pet sitter that care for my pets when I travel, and I sometimes still worry about them. I would try very hard to make sure you have few worries about your beloved pets, as I love animals, am patient with them, and would try to make them as happy as possible. I work in the travel industry, selling travel club memberships, so take our curated trips as often as I can. They are great, but I often find myself wanting to stay longer in the city or country of the trip, and I feel somewhat separated from the locals, especially if I'm staying at a resort. In 2013 and 2014, I've gone to Mexico 3 times, Guatemala, Spain, Cuba, Boston/CapeCod, twice, DC 3 times, the Florida Keys, Baltimore, Nashville, Louisville, Ft. Worth and Vail I can easily say, I'm ready for a break from fast paced travel, and believe house sitting will let me visit a place at my leisure, not having to cram every museum, art gallery, market, and extreme excursion, into a week, and instead would allow me to venture out for short day trips, or simply enjoy your scenery and climate, while having a feeling of home, with or without pets. I typically try to volunteer whenever I travel to another country, even if it's just for a few hours at an orphanage, or family service facility. I helped build a school in Guatemala. If your house sit is an extended one, or even a moderate stay, I would hope to be able to volunteer somewhere, if possible. I love the water, and would enjoy a sitting position at the ocean or sea, or even a lake or river. I would like to scope out countries where I might buy or lease a tropical, winter place for myself, as Kansas winters are not pleasant for me anymore. I know how I feel when I leave on a trip, and am much more relaxed when I know someone is going to be sleeping at my house every night, so my pets can relax. I have extensive experience with dogs, having owned a boarding facility for a few years, while I rescued and placed racing greyhounds. I am fully aware of the complete commitment it takes to care for others' pets. I'm a single homeowner, so am used to figuring out if something is amiss with the house. I live on several acres, and do the mowing, push and riding mower, limb clean up, weedeating, watering, etc. myself. . Peace and safe travel! Susan
