Hello!
I am looking at house sitting as a way to travel slow and make connections.
I typically am employed through contract positions in facilitation, youth work, and administration. I use my time between contracts to learn something new, visit a new location, and focus on writing/ projects. My university degree is in Environmental Science and Theatre.
I am from a rural area of Ontario, Canada and have always had horses, chickens, dogs, cats, and others around. I am comfortable and confidant in my ability to care for animals and enjoy spending time on their care. For a few years I ran a commercial greenhouse and have long had a stall at local farmers markets so I also think I am pretty good at keeping green things alive and healthy. Plants rule!
I have housesitting experience in Canada and in Australia. I understand that leaving your space in someone else's hands is a big trust exercise, and I hope that I can help others relax and enjoy their travel knowing that there home, animal friends, and plant friends are in good hands.
I think sites like this that encourage a share economy are absolutely great.
Happy Day!
