Before I semi-retired to travel the world, I was the chef for fifteen years for a nonprofit organization that I helped found in Northern California. Prior to that, I owned and operated a small real estate brokerage in California.
As a licensed Realtor Broker and property owner, I am keenly aware of what it takes to care for a home in a caring integral manner. My wife and partner of the last five years, is a highly regarded Thai Massage Therapist. Between us, we speak English, Thai, and a bit of Spanish and French. Currently, I write travel stories and do some online travel-related work. I have had pets most of my life including dogs, cats, fish and rabbits. Anna grew up on a farm in rural Thailand and is no stranger to caring for animals. We like to travel slowly, spending as much time as possible experiencing different locations and cultures.
When I owned my own house, I enjoyed gardening and solving the little problems and repairs myself. As a rental property owner (I still am) I realize that maintenance issues can arise at anytime requiring prompt problem-solving action.
I previously housesat a retired couple’s Santa Cruz beach home while they traveled for a month. Their beautiful garden required daily care and watering. They were so pleased when they returned, that they asked me to housesit again the following year while they traveled to Myanmar (Burma) and Thailand.
Housesitting affords us the flexibility to travel slowly and immerse ourselves in new cultures. We are currently based in southern Thailand so South East Asian locations are very easy for us to reach on short notice. We are mature, responsible and caring individuals. We look forward to caring for your home while you enjoy your travels.
We will consider other areas and countries for longer housesits as well. References are available upon request.
