Hello! We are Sheila and David, a happily married couple fortunate enough to be able to retire early and be financially independent. We have a house on Virginia's Chesapeake Bay, but as we begin life's next chapter, we decided to make house sitting be a part of our new lifestyle. For the past two years, we have been fortunate enough to be able to travel to Australia and Asia during the winter months and house sit for families wanting a loving home for their pets while they go on vacation. This year, we have decided to stay in the US and explore possible areas where we may want to move when we decide to sell our house in a few years. Housesitting will allow us to travel economically, but more importantly, experience life as a local and fill the void we have in our lives whenever we are away from pets.
PET SITTING : Housesitting offers us the opportunity to travel economically with the added bonus of spending quality time with well-loved animals but without the life time commitment of full pet ownership. A couple of years back my wife and I lost our beloved dogs, Bear and Berkeley. Bear was a year old, ready-for-anything rottie/blue tick mix who finally lost a long battle with bone cancer. Berk was a sweet and cuddly year old chow/sheppard mix who finally passed from old age. We had them both since they were pound puppies and loss them both within a year of each other. The loss was somewhat devastating. We have decided not to get another dog for now. We miss having dogs in our lives but want to travel extensively for the next several years while we figure out where we want to make our next home.

"Since the dogs and cat are the ones who experienced it, I will let them give the review.
Hi!!! I'm Ginger!! Just a pup, well a year old in July, but still feel like a pup!! :) I had a WONDERFUL time with David, Shelia and Josie!!! They let me play with Cody and do other puppy things, like let me carry their shoes etc around, and didn't even get mad at me!! (well maybe a little) When mommy came home, I didn't care!! Life is good.
Hello, My name is Cody, I am the lover boy and David and Shelia cuddled me a lot and let me play with Ginger when I wanted to, and even put her in the crate some so I could have some Cody time with out the little monster interrupting hehe!! They can come back anytime, hope they do!!
Hi, My name is Mocha, I am 14 and a half and have seen it all!! David and Shelia treated me like the queen I am!! I had them hopping when ever I spoke, even had them on the floor with me giving massages!! I like them the best of all the sitters I have had over the years (mommy doesn't even jump every time I speak)
Hello there, My name is Callie the Calico. I rule the roost around here and don't care for sitters much. However I showed David how to pet me, and have to say he did it pretty good. Also, quick with the food!!
That's the story, come back and sit for them anytime!! "

"The perfect house sitters! We were very anxious about leaving our super hyper unruly and totally spoilt Boxer with people we had just met, however, David and Sheila put our minds at ease immediately. We had very open communication and they provided us with any information we required up front. David and Sheila arrived at our house the day before our wedding into total chaos, yet they managed to settle in very quickly and even helped us out! We received regular updates while we were away, including photos and videos of our wonderful Lucie. We came home to an immaculately cleaned house and car, and best of all an extremely happy dog. We really could not have asked for better people to look after our Lucie and home. Lucie still sleeps on the stuffed Bunny toy that they gave her and occasionally we find her in the guest bedroom just snoozing on the bed she shared with them.
We are more than happy to highly recommend David and Sheila to any future clients, not only did we get everything we expected we have also gained lifelong friends."
ABOUT DAVID: I have spent the past years working for the U.S. federal government, the past working for the Dept. of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. The primary focus of my work has been promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy investments at government facilities and making government facilities generally more sustainable. I have traveled extensively in North America, Central American, Europe and Asia. I have always had an intense love of the outdoors and am always up for anything that involves the mountains or the sea. I speak Spanish fairly well (after a few days practice) and appreciate the fact that people in other places do some things differently.
ABOUT SHEILA: I am a first generation Philippine immigrant whose parents moved me to the San Francisco Bay Area when I was 10. After graduating from UC Berkeley years ago, I migrated east, where I earned my MBA and climbed the corporate ladder. While I'm happy to have had a
