Hello!
I am a responsible, hard-working, fundraising and communications coordinator for a small albeit global nonprofit. I have the pleasure - and the luxury! - of working remotely so I can work from virtually anywhere in the world, provided I have an internet connection. I currently have house sitting positions through most of 2016, however I am available from 05 September to 03 October and will happily consider opportunities during that time.
I am fairly well-traveled, have lived overseas (Tanzania), and try always to be patient, kind, compassionate, easy-going, fun, helpful, interested, and interesting, and it is important to me to live my life with integrity. I love people, good food, a variety of music, movies, hiking, reading, animals, houses, road trips, extreme landscapes, my family, my job, architecture, being outdoors, and time to myself (not necessarily in that order!).
I have owned two homes in my life, both of which I renovated extensively, doing the majority of the work myself. I can hang drywall, build a chimney, lay a bamboo floor, and tile a bathroom, among other projects, all on a shoestring. I have good enough skills that I can handle many home repair emergencies but I am not afraid to admit when something is beyond me and need to call in a professional.
I love animals. I have had a number of dogs and cats in my lifetime, although I do not currently have any pets. I have had riding lessons although I have never been taught how to care for a horse - or other animals - but I am excited to learn! Show me how best to care for your pets, and I promise I will care for them exactly as you want me to.
I am a driving fool and few things make my heart beat faster than the idea of a road trip. I have loved every mile I have driven around and across the U.S. I have been to all but eight states. I am equally at home in a big city and in a rural setting, and I am enamored with lots of smaller, less touristed cities, and places off the beaten path. Every place has something to recommend it and I enjoy finding out what that something is.
I am a traveler rather than a tourist. I truly love learning about other cultures and traditions, even in my home country. There is no better way to get a feel for a place than to walk through neighborhoods, buy groceries at the local market, and really live in the community, regardless of the length of time. I look forward to getting to know yours.
I have excellent housesitting references, all from homeowners for whom I housesat through a different housesitting site . I also have a clean police record and will provide you with a copy of my CORI before you officially engage me to house/pet sit for you.
