Thinking about what's required - it seems I've been practicing for this house sitting role for quite some time...
I've owned my own home. A house built in I renovated and maintained it. Plumbing, electrical, woodwork. so many odd jobs. Down to repointing the chimney. Repairs of every kind.
I've raised and nurtured cats, and dogs. I kept a freshwater aquarium for many years. I love the companionship of animals.
As having had our own pets taken care of, we understand the substantial level of trust required. As well, realizing animals need that companionship - their pack - to belong.
I planted an entire perennial garden from scratch. Trees, shrubs, Japanese grasses, ground covers, espalier. I've learned so much. I built and rebuilt two decks and a custom fence with a trellis for a Wisteria, and roses. I enjoy that sense of accomplishment. I enjoy the fruit of the labour.
I've always been type of person who enjoys teaching myself new skills. I am a self-taught musician and composer.
The point being...I'm comfortable. With who I am, as well as where I am. I'm not ever easily flustered.
My partner is the love of my life. She has a huge heart, is remarkably generous and lovely
We love to explore. We enjoy immersing ourselves in a place, a culture - to gain that deeper experience.
