Our home is two story located on an acre, partially wooded, on a man made lake. We are approximately 4 miles from a town of 17,000. As it is a small town, there is not a great deal to do or see, especially in January. The scenery at our house is quite nice with the lake and woods, though the weather in January won't allow for much enjoyment of the screened porch and deck. Given the rural location, this situation would best be suited to someone who would enjoy a few weeks R & R or a quiet place to work rather than someone who enjoys lots of activity and the hustle and bustle of a city. January weather here can be anything from 50 degrees to 10. Although 20's and 30's is more typical. We aren't known for ice and snow but it does happen. Even though we are in a rural area, we do have neighbors so it is not an isolated location. The nearby town has a small mall, grocery and drug stores, gift shops and boutiques, a book store, churches, a hospital, several urgent care/walk in clinics, and a 9 screen movie theatre.
The primary guest room with ensuite is upstairs. There is a large flat screen with satellite tv in the den. We have a land line from which calls can be made to anywhere in the US. Cell coverage is not good inside our house but is ok outside..which is why we still have a land line. We will provide wireless password for high speed internet connection. We have a large kitchen with everthing one would expect. The home is not elaborate but is fairly large and very comfortable. We are not smokers and would require non-smoking sitters.
Our primary concern is someone who will love and care for our boys and look after the house as if it were their own during the stay.
