First let me tell you a little about ourselves. We reside between Lake Forest, Illinois and Ajijic, Mexico. We are life long residents of Lake Forest, population 22,000 and 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. Ken retired after 30 years with the city in the capacity of Public Works Director. I was raised abroad, and retired after 38 years with the Federal Government as an Agent.
We have a varied interest in just about anything, however; our passion are our animals and traveling. We especially enjoy an adventurous and vast cultural experience.
We have 3 small dogs that are rescues, two from the streets of Mexico. We both, when we have the time volunteer for a variety of local rescue groups. I have an Andalusian horse here in Mexico and ride as frequently as possible. We also have birds and fish, which are cared for by our full time staff while we are away. Recently we lost our cat of 23 years.
We are avid gardeners, both in the US and in Mexico. We recently rehabed a 60 year old Hacienda on the mountainside in the Serra Medra mountains, elevation 5000 feet and overlooks Lake Chapala. We volunteer at a local dog rescue "Lucky Dog" we we walk, love and care for the and find forever homes up north in the US and Canada, if an acceptable home is not available here in Mexico I also volunteer as the non for profit organization 's Treasurer.
On occasion we have swapped homes, which has proven to be a pleasant experience.
We are reliable, conscientious, trustworthy, hard working, self-reliant, flexible, independent, and above all honest. Looking for places to travel, while feeling at home and caring for animals! We would consider and care for your home as we would with ours!
Lastly, we would be very happy to provide references, and any additional pictures upon request.
