As new retirees, we are excited to be able to sit as long as you like. We can adjust schedules at a moment's notice. We have multiple positive reviews as sitters. And we are experienced caring for sick, aged, and extremely energetic pets. We love them all and count ourselves fortunate to be able to love on them while we travel!
Dave and I are excited to learn about how your home works and to meet the furry/feathery members of your family. We are very good with animals and have been homeowners for 30 years. We understand the importance of respecting your property and keeping you up-to-date on the health and happiness of your beloved pets.
We do not smoke or do drugs.
We have found it often works for us to come to your home a couple of days in advance to learn your routines. We are also always willing to commit to extra days should your flight be delayed. We want to make it easy on you and maintain a pleasant, loving environment for your pets.
Why we want to house sit
House sitting is a great way to engage with communities in a more personal way. It is so nice to return to a real home after sight-seeing to be greeted by a wagging tail, to settle in with a purring kitty, to greet a neighbor as she waves from her window. We prefer "settling in" to vacationing and having pets around is all the more enjoyable. I have three rescue dogs of my own--they enjoy staying with our son when we travel.
Animals bring joy to our every waking moment. Having "pets on loan" to share our travel experience makes it even more memorable. It is our honor to learn their personalities, give them the love and attention they deserve, keep them close, well-exercised and on the schedules your family has set for them.
We are comfortable giving medications (please see our review from T. Barrett who lives in Panama-- we cared for her senior kitty with asthma). We appreciate the opportunity you have given us to care for the most important things in your life -- your home and the animals you love. Our first priority is to give you peace of mind while you enjoy a long-awaited vacation or work away from home.
What we bring to the assignment / relevant experience
We adore animals, first and foremost. Extensive foreign and domestic travel--we are comfortable most anywhere! Maturity. Long-time pet owners (dogs and cats) and 30-year homeowner. Dave is a serious gardener. We clean and adjust chemicals in our own FL pool. If your home is for sale, we can be counted on to keep it in "show-worthy" condition, with flowers on the counter and cookies on the counter.
