Hi! We're Tara and Thom.
We love to travel, enjoy the outdoors, and immerse ourselves in new cultures. We appreciate remote and rural areas, as well as bustling cities. We're open to visiting just about anywhere! Our favorite countries we have visited together are Mexico, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Vietnam, although we're mostly looking for housesits in the U.S. currently, because of COVID.
A little about us
We've both lived in Seattle, WA for 10 years. We love living in a city thriving with the arts, while also being so close to a plethora of natural wonders. Some favorite activities include: visiting museums and art galleries, seeing live music, trying new food, hiking, camping, and kayaking. We both work remotely, in tech, but have previously worked a wide variety of jobs: landscaping, bartending/serving, retail, running a small metalsmithing business, etc. Tara grew up with several pets (dogs, cats, lizards, frogs, fish, and more!) Tara's grandparents lived on a farm in Kansas, and she has experience around horses and livestock as well. Although we don't have any pets due to rental restrictions (and our desire to travel frequently), we enjoy petsitting our friends' pets when the opportunity arises. Thom worked as a gardner and landscaper for several years and has a natural affinity with flora. Caring for your animals and/or garden would be a joy for us! Thom speaks intermediate Spanish, and Tara has basic conversational skills in Spanish.
House sitting experience
We've done two house sits, both in Oaxaca, Mexico. The first sit was for a month in the city, where we cared for a charming ederly cat. Our second sit was in a smaller village, where we sat for two energetic young dogs. We loved both experiences!
