Hello, welcome to my profile. I am a reliable, active Canadian with a positive approach to life. As a retired high school teacher, I am enjoying the opportunities offered through travel - meeting new people and experiencing different cultures.
Having visited many parts of the world, I feel house/pet sitting offers a different and fascinating perspective, living as a short-term resident, in a local house.
House and Garden: Your garden will be well-cared for, as I am an enthusiastic gardener during our short growing season here in Canada. I am naturally tidy and organized, so your home will be in good hands.
Animals: I love cats and dogs, and I have two terrific cats of my own, a 12-year-old and a 4-year-old; they “allow” me to travel about a month at a time, while a friend stays with them. I have had the great good fortune to have had the love and companionship of four beautiful dogs in my adult life, from a small poodle to a large Labrador cross, who all lived to a ripe old age. I look forward to spending time with your pets, and I will give them the same attention I give my own. I understand that it can be difficult for pets and owners to be apart, and I will do my best to keep everyone happy.
Availability: I am especially interested in escaping part of our Ottawa winter, so house/pet sitting any time from January through April, for about a month, is ideal. However, I am available during other seasons as well. I often travel with my sister; however, during Canadian school holidays, I may have my 14-year-old granddaughter, Amanda, with me instead.
Closing: I would consider it a privilege to take excellent care of your home and pets, so you can enjoy your trip without worry. I will be happy to keep you up-to-date during your travels via phone, , or Face Time if you like.
