We are retired, academic-types who now lead an adventurous life filled with travel.  Currently we are driving around on (and near)  the PanAmerican Highway in South America. When we are on the move, we in a cabover truck camper.  But we are often interested in pausing the highway life, and perhaps your housesit is the break we need.  We will be available to sit in many parts of the USA and Mexico as well as South America.  We are Arizona/New Mexico folks, and very familiar with the Southwest. We also speak a little Spanish and love Latino countries and culture  

House work, yard work, pet care, livestock, chores, none of it scares us (heck we raised three boys).  Leave us a "to do list" and we will work on that, too.  We do not need television, but internet is handy.  We have a vehicle for transportation in your community.  Mike is handy with a wrench, while Geneva can find her way around a kitchen! We are non-smokers.  We do not take any drugs harder than blood pressure meds - Hahahahahhaha. No worries about parties at your place with us there, a typical evening is dog walk, dinner, games or movies and bedtime!

We can send pupdates (yes, pupdates) by , , or text if you wish. Or we can leave you to travel without worrying about us.  We have owned enough homes and pets to know how to manage most any situation that arises.  We have many excellent references. 

We do have two dogs that travel with us.  Nica and Pacha are both street-dog mixes.  They are both very well behaved and quite mellow. They are indoor/outdoor dogs and get along well with all dogs, cats and people.  And of course they are both up to date on all shots, pest treatments, etc.  They both have short hair, house trained and can sound the alarm if your place is being invaded.   Since Geneva is a neat-freak we vacuum/sweep dog hair frequently and will do the same at your place.  Will you give Nica and Pacha a chance to play with your pets and enjoy your home?

Geneva and Mike arrived on time and were ready to jump in right away. They had come to watch our home and the “kids” (Panda and Brandie) for six weeks while we traveled. Even though they brought their two dogs with them there was never a doubt that the “kids” were in good hands.

Mike began taking the four dogs on daily walks and teaching the “kids” how to behave. These walks were great since Brandie seems to have lost a few unwanted pounds or at least toned up a bit. Mike also took very good care of the yard, watering and mowing when needed.

Geneva not only re-potted a few houseplants that were struggling but also straightened kitchen cabinets and drawers. She cleaned and put away throw rugs around the house to eliminate dog hair collection. She collected apples from neighbors, made apple butter and shared it with the neighbors.

We live in a semi-rural area of the desert southwest and when field mice came into the house they handled it like there was nothing to it. When the kitchen drain became clogged they were able to clear the clog themselves, saving us the expense of a plumber.

Mike and Geneva are “doers” which is very good in our opinion. They took it upon themselves to volunteer at local fests, attend functions at the community center and socialized with neighbors. We received daily texts with a pics of the mail so we had an idea of what had come in that day.

Probably one of the best things they did was send “pupdates”. These pupdates were notes from the “kids” about what was happening at home. Panda told us how good the suppers Mike made for the dogs and Brandie commented on the fact that we hadn’t trained the new babysitters on the proper way to give belly rubs.

When we got home the house was clean, the yard looked good, there was a meal prepared for us and the “kids” were happy.

In other words we were very happy with Mike and Geneva and hope they can house sit for us again in the future.
