Hi ~ I am a single mom who is a recent empty nester, except I'm the one leaving the house while my daughter and her friends have a place they can afford while finishing university. We love cats and I grew up with dogs so I'm happy with either or both. I have a reliable car which is a bonus.
Why I Want to House Sit:
I am moving around and traveling off and on for the next year while I re-group from the long parenting process where both my adult children have had serious health issues that have required extra care the last 4 years. I want to spend some time exploring, writing and working online. I have done house sitting and subletting may times in Vancouver Canada and London England and am very familiar with living in other people's homes. It's such a great way to enjoy being in new areas of my own city, province, country and world! I find the process of sharing homes and lives very inspiring.
Relevant Experience:
I am experienced with both cats and dogs. I have raised cats for 30 years and I grew up with dogs. I dogsat a Bichon Frise for 10 months a few years ago. I have cared for other people's cats numerous times as well was part of a team capturing and neuter/spaying a pack of feral cats. I nursed 5 feral kitties for about a month. I have treated all kinds of pet ailments from fleas to tummy disorders and ring worm. I love to groom the pet's coat and believe that a clean environment helps a pet's demeanor and health.

As a long time property owner and prior landlord I am used to caring for property and dealing with emergencies! I would take great care of your home and pets. I leave your home clean and fresh upon return. I am happy to follow instructions on watering plants, picking up mail, communication with the homeowners and any neighbors you would like. I have excellent health and am physically active so dog walking is an added pleasure. I do not smoke, drink or do drugs. Sorry I cannot accept a house sit where smoking is allowed in the home. I enjoy yoga, cycling and hiking.
