We are an active retired responsible dog loving couple living in Cyprus, who enjoy travelling and making new friends. Since losing our beloved terrier in tragic circumstances we no longer have any pets to consider before making any travelling plans, but now indulge our love of our four legged friends by fostering a number of them for a local charity, an arrangement we thoroughly enjoy. It frees the dogs from the sanctuary where they have been living, and ensures that they are socialised before being sent to their forever home. Although they all seem to have their own 'issues' (quite understandably bearing in mind their backgrounds) we take great joy in nurturing them for a few weeks and seeing their characters emerge.
We are lovers of all animals, but particularly enjoy the company of dogs and cats. Over the years we have had a number of pets; the one that was most interesting was a cat, a delightful character who enjoyed bringing us his 'catch of the day'! We find it fascinating watching animals play and interact with each other, and believe they can all be friends if treated kindly.
We are non smokers, respectful of others' property, and enjoy meeting new people and exploring new countries. We have experience of house and pet sitting in Australia, South Africa and USA (both new and repeat sittings) and have excellent references that confirm our reliability and trustworthiness. We both hold full driving licences and have police clearance.
A little bit about us.....
Martin is a retired officer of the Royal Air Force, and Debbie is a retired Civil Servant. We have been married for 50 years, and during our time with the RAF have lived in a total of 29 houses, most of them married quarters, which had to be handed over in a good state of repair, so are used to looking after a range of property styles.
