We are an active, retired, non-smoking German couple, who both love nature, are English-speaking and fond of keeping things clean and tidy.
As house owners we know what kind of odd jobs come up to keep a house in order, especially seeing to a garden or doing maintenance work.
We also used to have a dog for many years (besides different pets when the kids were small)
After travelling to many places in Europe and abroad (for many years) we are still keen on touring the world with all its wonderful places, people, sights and cultural events.
- living in foreign countries, meeting people (individuals), getting to know their traditions, customs and habits
- seeing housesitting as a challenge to cope with the problems of everyday life in new and unfamiliar surroundings
None with housesitting so far but we are eager to get some, due to 'itchy feet'. 'None' is not correct any more because we successfully did our first housesit over Christmas and New Yeat in 2016 in Australia. We combined it with a two-month-trip to Thailand, Malaysia and Bali before the housesit and a four-month-trip around Australia after it.
After retiring from my teacher's job I went on a year-long-trip around the world and afterwards did some voluntary teaching (English) in countries like Thailand, Nepal and Vietnam for periods of up to 4 months.
My partner is a former nurse with experience in both child and geriatric care. She also had a garden plot for many years and has a so-called 'green hand' with plants, flowers and vegetables.
What we bring:
We bring our 'common sense' plus 70 years of life-experience as well as open-mindedness to everything foreign and experience in bringing up 3 children each.
