Hey there, we're a couple of jazz musicians who adore cats, dogs, plants, and probably fish and reptiles if we got to know them. Until a few years ago, when our twenty-year-old darling passed away, we always had cats, and their full-status personhood in the household was a simple fact. As touring musicians we very much miss having pets of our own, and we would love to shower some love and attention on yours.
We also know how to take care of a home. We are homeowners ourselves, and also have experience as house-sitters, renters, landlords. With Max's past career in fine homebuilding, we have a lot of respect for things like hardwood floors and the vagaries of grand old creaking houses. We are neat & compact travelers, and considerate of neighbors. (As musicians we happen to play some of the quietest music in the world, so noise should not be a worry.)
Please ask for our references for cat, dog, and house sitting. We've never taken care of any other species, but we are quick studies and have a great appreciation for the beauty and miracle all of creation. Even tarantulas.
A little more about us:
Our duo, Max Hatt / Edda Glass, plays what we call Jazz Americana, as well as straight-ahead jazz and Brazilian Bossa Nova. We've played on NPR Mountain Stage, New York City's Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Sundance Film Festival (you New Yorkers might even have caught our live in-studio performance on WFUV with John Platt). We're currently based in Santa Fe, NM.
We are particularly looking to find a house sit near a major music scene as a sort of artist-in-residency project-- some place where we can compose, play a few shows, and get to know the local arts community. New York City is particularly dear to our hearts.
