I have recently resigned from my role as the IT manager for a leading regional theatre. I held this position for 11+ years. I am now providing IT consultancy and web design over the web. I made this move in order to free up more time for my passion which is making digital art and more recently animation. My girlfriend and I now both work online so this means that we are free to work and travel together and independently. My interests span art and science and I think that I have a good balance between adventure and responsibility. I'm adventurous enough to try something new such as house sitting aboard but I'm also responsible enough to diligently protect your property.
I don't smoke and I like to keep fit and healthy. I love playing football and taking long walks and bike rides. I've always hugely enjoyed the company and camaraderie of spending time with animals, both large and small.
As my work is now internet based I'm looking for a house with a reasonable and reliable internet connection and ideally a home located in a city or in the countryside for a month or more.
I want to house sit because it will provide me with an opportunity to travel and to discover new and interesting place. I've long been interested in the idea as an affordable means of travel and discovery, but it's only now that I've become free-lance and I have shifted my economy online that I've been able to. So I look forward to living in new landscapes and finding new inspiration and animal companions.
For the past 3+ years I have been a property guardian in various sites around Oxfordshire. So I've lived in interesting places while benefiting from cheap rent. I have lived in a 160,000 sq. ft former warehouse, in a glorious former Priority (a huge and beautiful property that came with a herb garden, orchards and horses) and I have just finished living in a former nature education centre located in 14 acres of woodland.
So I have considerable experience in looking after other people's property. In my former role as IT manager I was responsible for all network security and maintaining up-time and services for their £3.5 million annual turn-over, so I have ample experience of being in positions of responsibility and of thinking on my feet. As a property guardian I have been successfully DBS (formerly CRB) checked as part of the vetting process. And now have my own clean police check documentation.
Naomi has travelled extensively around the Americas, Asia and Europe. She's a real animal lover who has had plenty of experience looking after pet dogs throughout her life. She has worked with horses over a number of years. As an outgoing, friendly and responsible homeowner she's an ideal home and pet sitter.
I've grown up with pet cats and Naomi has grown up with pet dogs and cats so between us we have lots of pet caring experience.
I will bring a high level of respect and responsibility to looking after your property. I will be working from home so I'll be present to look after the house and any of your pets. I love walking outdoors so I can bring an enthusiasm to dog walking if you have one. My other skills are in art and IT and I have basic maintenance skills. You will benefit from an experienced and reliable sitter and you'll be supporting my fine art work in the process. I'll be pleased to leave a sketch of your house/garden/pet as a thank you.
