I am a young 58 year old widow (married 28 years to a wonderful guy who passed away 9 years ago) who is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Clinical Supervisor by profession.

I sold my home on Whidbey Island, Washington State this past year. I am stepping out of my current position at work in January, 2022 in order to spend time with aging parents, children and grandchildren.

I also enjoy house-sitting and have looked after several homes and pets over the past few years. This past year I house-sat nearly half the year. I was born and raised in Canada and have family in B.C., Alberta and Nova Scotia. I have lived and worked in the States for years now and have family in Washington and North Carolina. I also have family in Ireland and am in the midst of obtaining my citizenship there also since my dad was born and raised in Ireland.  

I am clean and tidy and like an environment that is similar. I am fully vaccinated. I would be pleased to come and care for your home/pets in the United States, Canada and beyond. Kathleen is a fantastic house sitter. We had her watch our home and cats for 5 weeks. She came a day before we left so we could show her the routine and take her around our small town. She is a delight, very friendly and easy to talk to.
She took excellent care of everything and kept us informed with emails and photos. One of our cats is normally very skittish with strangers and it was great that she cozied up with Kathleen after a day or two.  She took great care of my plants and they looked better when I came home!
We recommend Kathleen highly and we hope to see her again in the future.

Kathleen looked after our house and furry critter for 10 days. this included a couple of days when we came home and had to leave again. She is a wonderful, solid, interested and interesting. She became a friend to both us and our cat. We would not hesitate to recommend her and do hope we can see her again.

Kathleen stayed with my two cats and took excellent care of my house while I was gone for a week in August. She gave my cats TLC, and watered outdoor plants. She didn't hesitate to contact me with concerns.  I was out of cell service range for part of the time, but I trusted Kathleen's ability to problem-solve, and I wasn't disappointed.  She left my house clean and tidy.  I would recommend Kathleen without qualification, and would be happy to have her back again.

Kathleen was willing and able to take on the care of our 17+ year old cat who is finicky about eating and has chronic kidney disease. She followed a schedule of prescription medicine and supplements and kept him healthy while we were gone. She also took good care of the house and was clean, tidy and professional. She had a very nice and gentle manner with our old boy and let him set the pace for interacting with her. We highly recommend Kathleen.
