We (Conor and Linda) are currently on an extended trip and are interested in housesitting as a way of getting to know different regions in Southern Europe. (With a view to possibly settling in the future).
I am a university lecturer in the humanities field, (education, media studies) and enjoy learning of all kinds. I also have a background in English language teaching. My husband is a builder/carpenter, with over 30 years experience. He has a broad spectrum of skills, including home renovation and property maintenance. We also have experience in the hospitality field, as some years ago (20) we owned and managed a hotel and dive resort in Roatan, Honduras in the Western Carribean.
We both love animals and have previously had a dog and a cat, whom we still miss. We have also looked after animals for friends and family for extended periods (dogs, cats, birds, chickens and fish). We enjoy the outdoors, love taking dogs for walks (and cats too if they like walking) as well as spending time with them at home. We would love to look after your animals and plants, and we can also do a bit of home maintanence or renovation, if desired.
I speak Spanish fluently and can speak some Italian and a very tiny bit of French. I am keen to learn other languages and think housesitting would provide opportunities for plenty of practice.
We can provide you with character references as well as references from pet sits in Australia. We currently own and rent out two properties in Australia, so we understand how important it is to have people you trust in your home. We are both mature and responsible people and we will take every care with your home and animals.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Linda and Conor
