I am a retired teacher. Until recently, I had a dog and parents needing care and have not strayed far from home. I no longer have either responsibility, sadly. But now I have no ties to stay in any one place and have decided it's time for some long overdue travel !. :))
Past travels have taken me away from my Canadian homeland for long stays and great cultural experiences in Australia (a year, and several repeat visits), Costa Rica, and Mexico. Shorter but repeated vacations include Cuba, U.S.A. and the Caribbean. I’m more of a homebody than an explorer although I love small towns and coffee spots with a view.
English is my native language, but I speak a bit of French and can manage some communication in Spanish, having one daughter, hubby and granddaughters living in Mexico.
I am a non-smoker, capable, responsible, clean and neat. As a caring, compassionate person, I will treat your home and your pets as I would treat my own.
For relaxation, I enjoy gardening, animals, quiet times doing jigsaws, walking, cooking/BBQing, exploring new places and experiencing new cultures. As a Canadian, I am accustomed to winter weather as cold as -30C and summer weather as warm as +30C, on occasion more extreme.
At the time of my application for your housesitting opportunity, I may not be local to you. You can rest assured, however, that I will be in your area to meet with you prior to your departure. I want to know that you are comfortable with leaving your home and pets in my care. My reference and police check are attached. Please check my references from my first house sits ...in Australia!
I am available to chat via facetime on iPad/iPhone or on .
Looking forward to meeting you!
