Greetings!! I am Jane and my wonderful husband is Bill. We are a reliable, caring, trustworthy couple in our late forties (well, early 50's for me!). We are fit and active non-smokers who lead a quiet lifestyle.

We know what it's like to worry about your house when you are traveling or away on business. We can ease your mind and ensure that your home is cared for and maintained in your absence. As pet owners ourselves, we also know how important it is to have your "fur babies" loved and pampered. It is nice to be able to leave your pets in the comfort of their own home instead of boarding them at a kennel. We think that house-sitting is the perfect opportunity for us to help others and see the world at the same time.

We recently spent six months housesitting in a remote mountain location in the Mexican Baja. This was an off-grid property where we honed our skills with solar energy systems and river-sourced water supply systems. In addition, though we are just getting started with our house-sitting adventures, we have owned, maintained and lovingly cared for our own homes and properties for more than 25 years.

We are experienced dog and cat owners, have tended chickens, and Bill has experience with pet birds (including parrots). We are happy to help out with household chores, repairs, lawn/yard maintenance, building projects, gardening or even farm labor if that is what you need. We are willing to try our hand at just about anything. New experiences are always welcome.

We are hard-working folks who are fit and able to handle all types of duties. After my retirement from policing we took seasonal positions at a campground providing customer service & support, as well as property maintenance roles. Prior to that, Bill worked for several years at a marina where his responsibilities also included property manager for rental apartments and cottages. He was previously trained in carpentry and was self-employed as a handyman for many years. He is experienced in numerous areas including plumbing, electrical, renovations, fence and deck building, painting, septic systems, off-grid living, etc. He is also handy when it comes to engine repairs and can drive trucks, tractors, boats, etc.

I am Bill's right-hand gal when it comes to maintenance projects. I am highly organized, conscientious, and detail-oriented. I am available to assist with all your home organization needs, tending to errands, communications re: bills/mail/financial issues.

We are both animal lovers and would welcome the opportunity to work with any type/breed of animal and are keen to learn new skills.

As well as English, Bill speaks conversational Dutch and Swahili. I can speak some Spanish (and a wee bit of French)  - enough to get by :) I would be comfortable living in a Spanish-speaking country and would enjoy the chance to practice and hone my conversation skills.

We are currently travelling around North America in our truck and fifth wheel trailer. Our two small, well-behaved, friendly, hypoallergenic and non-shedding dogs are travelling with us. Our dogs must be welcome along with us, so we (or one of us) can live in our trailer on your property if that suits the situation.

Thank you for considering us and we look forward to serving you.
