Hi from New Zealand,
We are a family from NZ, we are heading off travelling from early Sept 2017 for several years.
We own our own home in NZ and have rental property, so we understand what it is like leaving your home to strangers and we promise to look after yours. Also, to tell you if something goes wrong, that was our big thing with renting our property out - sometimes things happen .. just tell us !
We plan to be away for a couple of years and we don't want to stay in hotels much, too pricey but mainly we want to really experience each place we are in - take the kids to the local parks, make friends with locals etc. I also am pretty homely, so I want a kitchen and a bit more space. We are planning on using Air BnB, bookings and local rental companies, so we can stay in homes rather than hotels. However if we could do the odd house sit as we travel around - that would be amazing ! One of the main reasons we are keen to housesit, is our girls are also desperate for pets (ours have all passed over the last couple of years), so we thought housesitting means we can give them that experience. Mark and I both grew up rurally and love and are comfortable caring for both farm animals and domestic pets. We have regularly over the past 10 years, housesat for my parents (cats, dogs, fish, sheep, horses ...).
We are pretty boring really, we love the outdoors and the water, most days go to the beach a lot at home and take girls to the park. I'm pretty healthy and love food ! also my vege garden :)
Thanks for taking the time to read this, if you would like to talk further that would be lovely !
