We live in Arcadia, CA which is right next door to Pasadena, CA. We have a large home on 3/4 of an acre. The house is air conditioned and has a large pool.
Arcadia is home to the Los Angeles County Arboretum and the Santa Anita Race Track as well as a large shopping mall. We are next door to Pasadena which has the Norton Simon Museum and Old Town Pasadena and Cal Tech. Also very near-by is San Marino, home of the Huntington Library and Gardens. Within easy driving distance is La Canada, home to the Descanso Gardens and JPL.
We have 3 cats and 3 dogs. The dogs do not need to be walked because we have a very large, fenced yard for them. We require no housekeeping duties other than to clean-up after yourself and to sift/clean the cat box twice a day and water 2 small flower beds 3 times a week.
The dogs need to be fed twice a day, no complicated recipes or anything; just a mixture of wet and dry food. The cats have dry food out 24/7, so the bowl just needs to be filled and the water checked for both species. Because of the heat in August, the dogs will spend most of their time in the house. You will need to watch for when they go to the door asking to be let out, or you can usher them out every few hours, leave them out for 20 min. and then bring them back in. We have hardwood floors, so if there is an "accident" it is no big deal. The cats are strictly "indoor" and never go outside.
I will have the mail on a vacation "hold" with the postoffice. All in all, this is an easy "sit" in a nice house with nice pets in a lovely location in Southern California!
