I am looking to travel around the United States by going to different areas to house sit and see the sites along the way. I would like the houses that we care for to definitely be a non-smoking house. I prefer to have Wi-Fi, and heating or air conditioning depending on the season.
I currently teach ESL online for a company called VIPKid.
I am a single person who would be a great candidate to mind your house, pets, and plants in your absence. I travel with one well behaved cat. I am not someone who smokes, drinks, or parties.
However, I am an outdoor person who enjoys activities such as running, playing Quidditch, and hiking (mostly in the Smoky Mountains); and for two years in a row I participated in the Mississippi Warrior Dash (a 3.2 mile fun run and obstacle course). During time between work trips in Alaska, I spent my days kayaking and hiking on trails. My favorite day trip was hiking to Exit Glacier and its ice fields in Seward, AK.
My total travel experiences include Spain, France, Italy, Panama, Guatemala, and a couple of countries in Africa, as well as various cities across the USA. I enjoy meeting people from many different places and feel energized by the experiences. Journeying around Europe and the US and living in Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer have provided me the opportunity to see a world bigger and more divers than I thought previously.
My previous job was working as a fisheries observer. I traveled to ports around Alaska and, more recently, around the southeastern US to climb aboard boats to collect data for fisheries management. My job as an observer my job was both physically and mentally demanding, so now I am trying to work from home while also being able to travel the country.
