We are a married couple of white collar professionals that have lived in seven countries and visited more than twenty. We are in our late 30s and our son Luke two.
Originally from Kazakhstan, we both studied in the US. Olessya was an exchange student at Jacksonville Community College in 2000 and Alex got his Master's at Columbia Law in New York city in 2004.
Before going to Florida for Luke’s birth in 2015, we lived and worked in London, England. Olessya was a compliance director at Citibank and Alex practiced international law.
After an extended babycation in Florida, we decided to venture into location independent lifestyle, left the corporate grind in the UK and moved to Cyprus in the end of 2016.
Now, almost a year later, we've decided to pack all of our four suitcases and go back to America. We plan to spend four to six months there, visiting friends and exploring the great outdoors.
Although we have no house sitting experience per se, as former hosts at the most popular holiday rental service, we are certain to make perfect house sitters because we fully appreciate what it means to let 'strangers' from the internet into your home. Moreover, as tenants, not once have we had an unresolved issue or conflict with any of the property owners. On the contrary, we never shied away from improving and investing even in our temporary homes, be it a dishwasher purchase, a paint job or hiring of a professional cleaner. Clean freaks? Guilty as charged.
With respect to animals, we both grew up in families with pets. Dogs, birds, cats and even a rat for Alex and dogs and a bunny for Olessya. And after getting married we first kept a husky and then a German shepherd. We love animals, know how to take proper care of them and would love our son to be around animals to develop the same affection.
