Hi there!
We are Nick and Ash - a late 20's Australian couple looking to discover more of Canada and spread our roots here. Our preference is to live on more rural properties, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We are both looking for a change of scenery from life in Canberra, Australia.
Hi, I'm Ash! I am a Scientist by degree, but have recently jumped ship into environmental science disciplines. I've just spent the majority of this year taking school children from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to remote Aboriginal communties across Australia. I have qualifications in first aid and 4WD. I absolutely love the outdoors and am excited to explore more of Canada.
Hi I'm Nick - I'll be discharging from the Australian Army in December 2017 after 5 years as a Combat Enginner. Through this line of work, and prior to the army I have mainly worked in trade dominated areas. Concreting, tree felling, earth moving and basic carpentry are some skills that may be of use to you. If there are things that need fixing, general upkeep, or jobs on your list of things to do, I'll gladly get my hands stuck into those while taking care of your home. I have a passion for the outdoors, animals and cooking - passed down from a healthy, large, loving, laughing family.
We are both animal lovers, having both grown up with dogs, cats, ferets, geese and chickens. Our preference is to housesit with animals, but are happy to look after property alone. We are also not phased on internet or phone reception, as we are there to explore and enjoy the local area.
We both have scattered experience with house and pet sitting over the years, both live-in and check-in sitting. Ash has previously looked after a family property for mulitple years, including taking care of the animals of the house. Nick's passion is of the canine variety, having owned, trained and worked with Great Danes, Golden Retrievers and Wolfhounds (although would secretly love a weiner dog...).
We are both extremely passionate about the outdoors, spending any free time hiking, camping, trout fighing and exploring in our 4WD. We also have a love for food, and love to make our own, including preserves, cheese, sausages and salami. This goes hand-in-hand with our love to garden and create a productive space - and will happily take care of indoor and outdoor plants. Thanks to both of our career paths, we are very comfortable living in quiet, remote areas where there is a need to be partially self-sufficient.
We look forward to exploring more of Canada and hope that we are what you are looking for in a house sitter.
Hope to hear from you soon!
