About Eleanor & Kieran
We are a family of 4 - mum, dad and two kids, a boy, Gaius, age 7 and a girl, Beatrix, age 5. We are taking a year out of our normal lives in the UK and travelling in Asia and Australasia and then in the new year heading back to Europe.
Mum (Eleanor) is a yoga and birth class teacher, and dad (Kieran) has worked in IT and is now getting into Permaculture design and gardening. We are both doing some freelance work on our travels and looking to live in a place for 4-6 weeks rather than travel around too much.
We love nature and countryside, although it is good to be close to shops so we can stock up on provisions. We love swimming and walking, and mum and dad do some scuba diving as well.
Why we want to house sit
We love animals and have enjoyed after peoples furbabies and homes. We want to teach our kids about caring for pets on our travels, but also stay in a home rather than a sterile hotel room.
We also want to enjoy local communities rather than stick to the boring tourist trails, and stay in one place for longer than a week.
Our experience
For the last year we have been doing a few pet / house sits for people in Australia and New Zealand, ranging from a new litter of puppies, 4 dogs including rescue dogs and 50 sheep. We have had plenty of cats over the years and while we don't have a dog ourselfs yet, our families do have them so we are used to staying with them and walking etc., one of us had dogs as a child,the other cats, gerbils and hamsters. We are happy to care for other pets as required.
Kieran has been maintaining a vegetable garden for years now and being more interested in permaculture / forest gardening so would be willing to help maintain your garden.

Eleanor is a very trustworthy person. She manages her own business is highly organised. She is clean and tidy and very responsible. I would highly recommend her to house sit.

What a lovely couple. We were very happy to meet Kieran and Eleanor and their charming children. They kept the house spotless and the pets happy. The best part was that we arrived home to freshly made cookies, and a lovely card from the family. We have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful family.
