My husband, Jim, and I are retired educators from the Maine Community College System. Since retiring, we have been spending winters in northern Thailand. Because of our current traveling life style, we no longer have pets but while working, we had numerous cats and dogs. We are non-smokers and prefer a quiet environment most of the time. We both read a lot, do not watch much TV, enjoy cooking and gardening and are active online users. Gail has written a book, "The Roots of a Family - Life in Rural Maine." Jim has written many travel tales and shared with family and friends. We thrive on mini-adventures that include new friends and pets and places.
We have taken care of pets in New Mexico, California, Massachusetts, Florida, and Maine as well as Thailand, Ecuador and Spain. Several of these assignments have been repeat calls.
We are interested in sitting for 7 to 31 days at a time, depending on situation and location. We prefer locations that have public transport options and/or use of bicycles and do not require our own vehicle. We can provide contact information for references from other folks whose homes and pets we have taken care of.
