Hello, everyone! I'm Savannah, a former attorney, non-smoker, reliable, honest, conscientious, clean, adaptable, organized. I'm reconnecting with life, or as some folks describe it: "retired". I'm an aspiring travel blogger, ESL teacher, photographer, and artist from Chicago, IL USA. I don't smoke or use drugs. I enjoy wine and spirits and partake moderately. I’m very intelligent, healthy, youthful in outlook and spirit, capable and resourceful. I enjoy listening to music, creating art, and I love to read. I also enjoy solitude, so an isolated, rural or secluded location would not be a problem for me. I believe sometimes one must stop, breathe and simply enjoy the silence.
I recognize how important it is to know your home and your pets are being lovingly looked after while you're away. I hope after reading my profile, you will consider me to care for your home and pets!
Why I want to house sit for you:
In May 2012 I decided to follow my passion, so I quit my job and started on a new life journey. In October of that same year, I lost my best friend of 11 years, the most loving Rottweiler in the world. DK was a 10-month-old rescue who had been severely abused when he came into my life. I miss him every day. Since losing DK, I’ve taken care of a few cats and dogs for friends. I love being on the receiving end of puppy licks and kitty love!
I'm currently traveling in Central America on the first leg of my journey, slow traveling, exploring other cultures and traditions, expanding my language skills, and enjoying this phase of life. I plan to travel extensively for the next several years. I decided to try housesitting and international volunteering to save a little on travel funds and also to give folks like you peace of mind while you're on holiday or a business trip.
I understand what it means to open your home to strangers. Before starting this journey, I hosted guests from all over the world as an host. I earned the Superhost designation for six straight quarters, hosting more than 50 guests from all over the world and maintaining an overall 4.9 rating out of 5.0. I loved hosting and take pride in creating a relaxing, clean, comfortable and inspiring space for my guests. While taking care of your home, I will follow your directions and maintain it to your expectations. I'm also a homeowner and I’m comfortable taking initiative when problems or issues arise. I like figuring things out for myself, but I’m not afraid to ask for help. I’ve owned several businesses, managed large teams and can manage household staff where required. I can care for your indoor plants, mow the lawn, tend the garden, collect eggs, look after vegetables, and do any tasks you may need to have covered during my stay.
I have been a mommy to countless dogs and I’ve been bossed around by several cats through the years. As you can imagine, I’ve wrangled all types of critters while raising four sons. I will ensure that your pets are well cared for and happy during your absence. I will maintain their feeding and exercise schedule, administer medication and give tons of hugs and belly rubs. I will keep you informed of their care while you're away with s, videos, and texts. I love all kinds of animals, though I’m not comfortable around reptiles or rodents. Having spent summers on my grandparent's farm, I also have experience with a variety of farm animals. We raised horses, cows, chickens, goats, geese, turkeys, rabbits, pigs, ducks, and guinea hens.
Looking forward to speaking with you about taking care of your home and your beloved pets!
