Aimée and Donny are seeking a long-term caretaker position with hopes to live simply. We are happiest when we are working at a slower pace, and exploring the world. We are most comfortable in a natural setting.
Aimée Bruneau is a theater artist and has lived in Seattle, WA for two decades. She grew up on Guam and her parents instilled in her a lifelong love of travel. She’s been fortunate to travel to Southeast Asia, Japan, Central and South America, the Caribbean, Western Europe, and a good many of the wild and wonderful United States of America.
Donny Bryant is a handyman and photographer. He grew up in New York City’s Lower East Side and moved to Seattle in 1984. Donny served on submarines in the United States Navy for 6 years, and in Reserves for 4 more. Donny has more than 20 years of experience working in residential and facilities maintenance. He’s a fixer. Donny is father to three sons, and now that they’re grown, he’s seeking to continue working at a slower pace in a tropical environment.
Education and Work Experience
For 13 years, Donny has worked in the Residential and Facilities Departments for Sound Mental Health, King County's most comprehensive providers of mental health, substance abuse and behavioral health services. He has invaluable experience prioritizing and completing work orders for light construction, painting, lawn maintenance, plumbing and light plumbing installation, electrical, drywall, and light masonry. He’s a Jack of all trades who knows when to use duct tape and when to spend the money. Donny has an AA in Electronics from the United States Navy, coursework in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Technology and a Certificate as a Quality Improvement Specialist from Seattle Central College.
Aimée has served on the faculties of Seattle University, Cornish College of the Arts, Savannah College of Art and Design, Shoreline College and Highline College as a Professor of Acting and Directing. She’s worked for nearly twenty years as a theater maker in Seattle. Aimée is also an award-winning audiobook narrator and voice over actor. To support her theater habit, Aimée has also worked as a yoga instructor for 5 studios in Seattle, and offers private classes independently. Before they became obsolete, Aimée worked for several major city newspapers in Advertising. Aimée has office administrative skills as an Executive Assistant for a non-profit dedicated to salmon restoration. She is certified in TESOL, and has taught English abroad. Aimée holds an MFA in Acting from the American Conservatory in San Francisco, and a BA in Theater from Virginia Tech.
Caretaking and Pet Sitting Experience
Aimée and Donny have worked primarily as pet sitters, and property management is always part of that arrangement. Aimée has additional experience managing tenants, rental contracts, creating and maintaining advertising, and even some event planning for her clients. She’s the organizer and communicator. She’s also an avid gardener. Donny has improved nearly every property he’s worked for. He can paint a house in two days, winterize just about anything, and is a wizard under the sink. They share landscaping maintenance.
Donny and Aimée are dependable. They honor their contracts, both in written and handshake formats. They are non-smokers and don’t use recreational or pharmaceutical drugs. Above all, they are honest, and openly communicative.
