Geoff is a retired electronics technician and Marg was a government manager.
Since taking early retirement we spent over a year in China teaching English, then completely renovated an old house to live in, and for several months at a time each year, we explore France, Italy and Spain by train, bus and mainly on foot.
We are both keen cooks, Marg is particularly skilled in dressmaking, landscaping and gardening, Geoff can turn his hand to almost any maintenance job from laying concrete to plumbing repairs and computer maintenance.
Marg is very good with animals both domestic and wild, she attracts and hand feeds wild birds and reptiles in our yard and we both enjoy taking our neighbours' dogs for walks as our frequent traveling precludes us from keeping our own pet.
When we are not traveling, Geoff volunteers his spare time running computer courses for senior citizens and Marg does relief work for Government staff.
Because our explorations of Mediterranean Europe mainly involves staying in one place for weeks at a time, we normally stay in apartments to enable us to get to know local shop-keepers, stall-holders and neighbours, and our hosts have welcomed us back saying we always take good care of their properties.
We find we really fit into smaller towns and villages, especially those places not often visited by outsiders, but we are equally at home in large cities, so location is only limited by our desire not to drive, we rather use local transport.
