As well as being a freelance writer, I am a minimalist traveller, English teacher, guitar player, animal lover and a believer in privacy and have a weird sense of humour. (Not in that order!)
I live alone after my divorce 15 years ago. At my age I have seen a lot and experienced much. But always learning.
I spend most of my time on a computer, writing, or doing some marketing.
In my life I have painted houses, rooms and furniture. I have built patios, decks, added rooms to my home. Carried out electrical, plumbing and other repair work. I mention this to assure homeowners that I am competent enough to repair and fix when things go wrong.
BONUS: I house sat a 3 roomed Apartelle in the Philippines. Cooked and served meals, cleaned rooms, changed bedding, gardened, paid all the bills, carried out repairs and maintenance, booked tours, picked people up from the port and airport, ferried people around the area.
I also looked after a motel in North East Victoria, Australia (Rutherglen). This was a 15 room motel with a pool, I served breakfasts, cleaned, looked after the swimming pool, did marketing online, purchased foods and cleaning materials.
I am meticulously clean. Always wash dishes, clean and tidy my living area. I'm not compulsive obsessive about it, but I hate mess. :)
I DO NOT smoke, but I do enjoy a cold beer at the end of the day (just 1), and a glass of wine with my meal. I do most of my own cooking. Why? Because I'm good at it!
I'm a friendly person, enjoy socially meeting new people.
I am fit and active, love walking dogs and nursing cats. If you have a snake for a pet, I am not the house sitter you want. (Unless it's a small python!) Iguanas? I can take them or leave them.
My travels have taken me to 20 different countries and I stayed in peoples homes and apartments on my journeys, all owners giving me a great reference as I looked after their rooms or homes.
I prefer to visit other countries and stay locally so that I get a better understanding of the people, the culture, the customs, all the secret places to see, and the food. I write about this prolifically ( The is being upgraded, but you get the idea. I get on with everybody.
If you're looking for somebody to look after your home maybe even better than you do (kidding!), then look no further.
I have a few references from people whose homes I have sat. Some had dogs, cats, and some had chickens, one property even had sheep.
Confession: I am a crazy dog lover, and dogs love me too. I had dogs all my life but travelling makes that impossible.
Please feel free to ask me any questions. I do like long term sits, as that gives me time to settle in and enjoy life.
