I am a semi-retired travel writer/author who loves animals. There is a mutual affinity and understanding that exists between me and animals, regardless of their species.
As a mature woman, I've had a plethora of experiences and can handle most situations that arise with aplomb and common sense. As a semi-retired travel writer, I remain an intrepid nomad. I don't smoke, drink or do drugs, but do enjoy seeing new places and meeting people. Although I live in an apartment in the DC area (Virginia) now, most of my life I've lived in and cared for a house plus an assortment of animals.
In a past career, I opened the first pet sitting service in my New England town. Later I worked for two other pet sitting companies. Also, I have had previous positions house-minding both short and long term.
WHY I WANT TO HOUSE/PET SIT:
In my younger years, I had many wonderful dogs, but since then I have had six wonderful cats, including my current beautiful cat, Jack. While I travel, my husband ( who doesn't like to travel) continues to care for Jack. I love dogs too, but would only pet sit for dogs who do not need to be walked a long distance. I would like to house/pet sit near the DC, NYC, Delaware area at first and then branch out further near my children, particularly to California, New England and S. Dakota and then the whole world.
WHAT I CAN BRING TO THE ASSIGNMENT:
I feel I have a lot of life experience with animals and properties to give you piece of mind while you are away. I am responsible, clean and neat and am conscious of the care and security required to maintain a property. You can count on me to be dependable and flexible. Most important, I will treat your pet with love and affection on his/her terms and per your instructions.
As a retired person, I am available and look forward to discussing your needs. References available.
