We (Chelsea and Jason) are an American couple from Baltimore Maryland, USA and are looking for an authentic experience and not a "vacation". The hope the that by staying in a country for several months at a time, we will get to know the people and the culture better than by just staying for a few days or weeks.
Our Story: After 3-10 years working in corporate America, we realized that we didn't want to spend the healthiest years of our lives sitting behind a computer and working hours a week. So in April 2018, we left our jobs, sold all of our belongings, and hit the road (for more about our story, check out our blog at Chelsea is a former project manager who worked in the research and development of medical devices (specifically in in-vitro diagnostics), and Jason was a digital forensic examiner.
About us: We are both in our early to mid thirties and are interested in seeing new places and meeting new people. We love the outdoors and are spending the first 6 months of our trip exploring the national parks in the US and Canada. We love hiking, skiing/snowboarding, biking, swimming, snorkeling, and learning more about the natural world. We also love animals! Chelsea grew up with cats, dogs, rabbits, various rodents (gerbils, hamsters, etc), and Jason has grown up with birds. We may work as consultants during our trip, but ultimately hope to learn new skills and potentially find a calling in different industries. Chelsea loves reading, knitting, playing board and card games, and going for long walks. Jason loves reading, biking, cooking, and volunteering.
Our Goals: Our goal first and foremost is to make sure that your home and/or pets are well taken care of. Since we have had pets of our own, we know how important it is to have the peace of mind knowing that your pets/home are in good hands. We don't mind hard work and love being outside, so whether you have a garden that needs tending or pets that need exercise, we are more than happy to oblige. In coming in to your home, we also want to become a part of your community and grow through the experience. It is our hope that we will meet people, make friends, learn new skills and games, and ultimately find a place that we want to call home in the future.
