I'm a very responsible, fit and active, semi-retired individual, who loves the Comox Valley. I have children, grandchildren, and extended family who live in Comox. I'm familiar with the area, due to visiting the CV for the past 5 years, when my children and grandchildren moved there. My son is a physician, and my daughter-in-law is a teacher, and they have 3 children, and live in Comox. My background is social work, where I practiced as a medical social worker for 28 years, retired, and then took my certification to be an ESL Instructor. I am a private contract worker and teach English language classes from the fall to the end of June. I have summers free, and would like to spend my time in the Comox/Courtenay area during the summer months. I'm married, and my husband would also spend time with me on the Island, however he is still working, and therefore his time spent with me would be intermittent. I love pets, love to garden, and am very able-bodied, as fitness and exercise are also an important part of my life. I have a theatre background, and love the arts and cultural/community events. I also love to cook, and read voraciously. I am known to be, and consider myself, a competent, responsible, organized person. I am both outgoing, as well as very appreciative of my own alone time. I am a non-smoker, and drink alcohol very sparingly. I have had many cats and dogs in my lifetime, and love both. I have a driver's license, however no vehicle in the Comox Valley--usually I rent a vehicle. I do own a bicycle that I keep at my children's home. I very much hope to house-sit on a regular basis, each summer.
