I am a recently retired elementary school principal and my wife still works for a company based in Irvine, CA (both in our late 50's). We live in a newly remodeled lake home in north central Wisconsin, but hate the long winters! My wife's company allows her to work from home on a remote basis (finance and accounting) which we love to do in the late spring, summer, and fall. Unfortunately, we can no longer tolerate winter weather and would love to vacate our home state anytime from November thru May. We have two adult children who are grown, fully employed, and completely independent. We previously owned a cat, but have no pets at this time in our life due to our active lifestyle.
While my wife works, I have worked a variety of part-time jobs just to stay busy. I've worked as a starter/greeter at a golf course, an aide working with disabled children, and have my bartending license. I love being around people and enjoy yard work, handy-man activities (painting, etc), and home projects. If your home needs some maintenance work to be done, I'm your man!
Prior to moving to our lake home on a permanent basis, we owned another home in suburban Milwaukee, WI. Having rented our "up north" home on several occasions, we truly understand and appreciate the concept of having "strangers" living in your home. We were often disappointed in how things were left by our renters and sincerely believe in the old camping adage of "leaving your 'campsite' in better condition than what you found it in..." Your home would not only be taken care of, it would be embraced, and improved!
We have been fortunate to travel extensively in the United States, as well as to Europe, the Caribbean, Central and South America. We have lived the past two winters in Southern California. We have no grandchildren as of yet and our aging parents are healthy. We are free to go anywhere, at any time! We just need reliable internet for my wife's work responsiblities during the week.
We are both active, hard working, and caring midwesterners that enjoy people, traveling, hiking, biking, fine dining, great wine, and new experiences. We would love to house sit for someone anytime from November thru May - and even during the summer and fall months if needed.
