Welcome all prospective homeowners. I'm Ian, a software developer from South Africa who has been working and living in the UK for almost a decade and whoose feet have begun to itch once more. That, and a wish to find some beautiful surrounding to help prod my creative writing skills have led to me taking the leap to travel and spend some time in the wider world.
Day to day I'm a pretty reliable and quiet person, usually up early and out for a run or a hike to see the sunrise and then settling in to get on with the day. When I have the free time, I like to keep active by going for long walks and always welcome company by both human and animal companions, but am also quite comfortable on my own.
I'm not a very social person, having learnt to value and enjoy my own company and thus am unlikely to be away from the house for more than a few hours, and that is only if I head into town to take in an exhibition or some such. For the most part I am looking for somewhere beautiful to get away from life's distractions and get on with the things I love doing.
Why I'm here
As I mentioned above, I am taking a break from the real world to travel and find myself and thus am looking to discover new places. To really do that, I am looking to find somewhere to stay for at least a week at a time so that I can experience what the area has to offer and relax.
If the place is in an area with hiking and running trails, all the better, but as long as its somewhere that could be considered beautiful, I would love to visit. I don't need much, except maybe wifi, so am fairly low maintenance.
Experience you say
This is where I have to admit to being a bit behind the curve. I have experience looking after and maintaining a place of my own, having done so for several years now. I'm not allowed pets in my building, but I grew up surrounded by them and love spending time with them.
My father is a vet and thus we always had animals in the house and it doubled as a place for some of them to recuperate. I also spent many summer and winter holidays working within his surgery, mostly odd jobs but also assisting the nursing staff and techs as needed.
So why me
I bring a stability and willingness to care for and show affection to any animals I am asked to look after. As someone looking to simply be in his environment, you won't have to worry about me leaving your animals alone and without companionship. I am on a journey to connect with the world and the creatures in it and look forward to every chance to do so.
Please do not hesitate to get in contact and I look forward to speaking with all of you.
