We are taking time off from our careers to house sit. I am taking time away from my career to write a memoir. Stephanie is working on research. Stephanie is a care manager for adults with disabilities. I teach .
Our experience includes house sitting in New York, Miami, and Savoie, France, where we took care of dogs ranging from small to medium-large. The Miami home required caring for two small adolescent dogs, home care, a large variety of plants, garden, and a swimming pool for one week. The New York home is four stories including a front and backyard, interior house plants, and a reasonably-sized garden for one month. In Val D’Isere, France, we cared for a large dog and maintained regular upkeep of a medium-sized apartment for 10 days.
Our philosophy is simple: we treat a home and it’s inhabitants as our own-with care and attention to detail. It brings a sense of satisfaction to live in an environment that is well-maintained. Aesthetics are important to us. Our communication style is direct, upfront, and responsive.
We both grew up with dogs, birds, cats, fish, hamsters, and domesticated rats. We communicate well with animals and put their well-being at the center of our attention, and make sure that their health and routines are well-maintained. In addition, Stephanie has professional experience working as a dog groomer.
Stephanie and I speak multiple languages at varying levels of proficiency, including French, German, and Spanish. We are fairly-well traveled and adaptable. My career as a teacher has enabled me to spend time across North America, the Caribbean, and several countries in Europe.
Our references include home owners, landlords, and professional contacts. A copy of my background check is available as well for New York State and FBI(national).
